Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.
The need for decent affordable housing at the local level is met by local Habitat affiliates including Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity. All local Habitat affiliates are independent, nonprofit organizations that operate within a specific service area within the framework of the Habitat Affiliate Covenant. Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity, founded in 1985, is the local affiliate serving 22 cities and towns in the Merrimack Valley.
Founded in Americus, Georgia in 1976, Habitat for Humanity today operates around the globe and has helped build, renovate and repair more than 600,000 decent, affordable houses sheltering more than 3 million people worldwide.
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Seeking to put God’s love into action, as based on Christian principles, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
