Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity builds all year round – Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. While volunteers are busy building out our current projects, our site selection committee is identifying and negotiating properties for new opportunities that will keep our mission alive – building strengthen, stability and self-reliance for families through shelter.
The following properties are in the queue, and through many hours of volunteers support we will transform each site into decent and affordable homeownership opportunities for new Habitat families.
40-50 Margin Street, Lawrence
This two family is nearing completion, with the families selected, and after the support of our many regular site supervisors, corporate build partners and our build relationship with Greater Lawrence Technical School – our families are expected to be moving in Spring 2017.
Mason Street, Lawrence
Located in the Lower Tower Hill neighborhood, close to the Water Street and the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence – we broke ground Spring 2017 and will be building one of our traditional two-family townhouse style homes with family occupancy estimated for Fall 2018.
Working closely with the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center and other local veterans organizations, this site has been identified as the ideal location for the launch of our new Veterans Build Program. The two homes built here will be for qualifying local veteran families and will include build days dedicated to veteran volunteers. Expected occupancy Summer 2017.
Through the generous support of the Institution for Savings, and the donation of land at 22 Old County Road, Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity is expanding it’s reach within the 22 communities we serve. This build is projected to start late Summer / Fall of 2017.
